What We're
All About
We are a non-profit group who gets together for socializing and raising money for charity. We have donated to the Gardnerville Food Closet, the Family Support Council, the Gardnerville Senior Center, the Assisted Living Facility, Project MANA at Truckee, the Hospice at Truckee, The Humane Society of Truckee-Tahoe, the Incline Library, the Tahoe Women's Services , Environmental Alternatives, the International Humane Society for Hurricane Katrina relief and the Eagle Valley Children's Home. All proceeds after expenses go to charity.
Our age group is basically 40 plus. We fill the gap between the 20/30 club and the Senior Center. If you're too old for the 20/30 club and too young for the Senior Center you'll fit right in. Our emphasis is not on "date and mate" but rather on providing activities where singles can get together and have someone to do things with. We go the the theatre (live), the museum, art openings, go hiking, kayaking, outrigger canoeing, biking and anything else someone wants to do. We meet weekly for dinner and drinks and planning of new events. House parties usually have 20-60 people in attendance, sports activities around 10-20.
If you are hesitant to attend an event because you won't know anyone when you
arrive, call the host and volunteer to help. There are always things that
need to be done such as welcoming people at the door and directing them in the
proper direction, not to mention helping to clean up afterwards. It's a great way to meet
everyone and you'll never be bored.
Remember to check the
calendar often as it is always changing as new events are added. If an
event is added at the last minute and we have your email address, we can send
you a notice.
